Help Jeremy in Overcoming Metastatic Cancer

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Hearts,
I am reaching out about an incredible person in need, my dear friend Jeremy Jarvis, who has dedicated their life to helping others. When we met twenty years ago they were less than a year removed from alcoholic ruin (their words) and already active in recovery, always looking for ways to be of service. I remember when they moved into the Catholic Worker House to become a full-time live-in volunteer for years, because, like Dorothy Day who founded that extraordinary place, Jeremy has never wavered in their conviction that we must always avail ourselves to feed the hungry and serve the poor and unhoused without condition.
Jeremy has spent years mentoring countless people through a radical program of lifesaving action, and bringing their years of experience, strength and hope inside jails, prisons, detoxes, and hospitals. They have been the single most influential person in my own recovery over the past 17 years, the depths of which cannot be overstated. Recently, they moved to Oregon to help take care of their mom.
Two weeks ago, Jeremy learned that they have colon cancer. A few days ago, scans revealed that the cancer has already spread to their lungs and liver. This diagnosis necessitates immediate treatment with chemotherapy coupled with other treatments to be determined after further testing. As Jeremy will be unable to work during these treatments, they need help covering living expenses to stay stable during this challenging time and to help their mom, as they are now trying to support both their livelihoods. Funds will also go toward healthy, organic food they need to nourish their body during these treatments, as well as supplements and other therapies that will support their body’s healing process.
This campaign isn’t just about financial support—it’s about honoring someone who has made the world a better place through their love and service. Jeremy has always believed in the power of community and the importance of supporting one another. Now they need our help.
No amount is too small. Whether you can give $5 or $500, your support will make a difference. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with your network to spread the word.
Together, we can help them navigate this difficult journey with the strength and love that they’ve always offered to others. Jeremy is a strong, resilient person with an unshakeable faith life: Please keep your messages and prayers filled with light and hope.
Thank you so much for your generosity, your prayers, your love, and your joy.
With gratitude,
