Dear friends, family, and community-
I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear sister and brother-in-law, Carrie and Jeremy. Recently, they received heartbreaking news: Jeremy’s pancreatic cancer has returned and is now stage 4. The cancer has spread into his digestive tract, creating a mass that makes it impossible for him to ever eat or drink again.
On Thursday, 9/25, Jeremy will undergo surgery to place a GJ tube. This will help drain the painful fluids in his digestive system and will also be the only way he can receive nutrition for the rest of his life.
Jeremy is facing this unimaginable challenge with strength and courage, but the reality is that the road ahead is going to be extremely difficult. While USAA has been wonderful in supporting Jeremy with long-term disability at 60% of his pay, the financial burden remains heavy. Carrie is doing everything she can to care for Jeremy, while also trying to keep Olivia and Jaxon’s routines and extracurricular activities intact so they have as much normalcy and stability as possible during this painful time. Any FMLA leave Carrie takes to be there for Jeremy is unpaid, and home health support—something they will need—comes at an additional cost on top of growing medical bills.
We’ve started this GoFundMe to help ease the financial stress so Jeremy and Carrie can focus on what matters most: time together, comfort, and care for their family.
If you’re able, please consider making a donation to support this amazing family during the hardest time of their lives. No gift is too small, and every prayer, share, and kind word means the world.
Thank you for surrounding Jeremy, Carrie, Olivia, and Jaxon with love and strength.
