Help Jeremy and Family Through His Leukemia Battle

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ryan, and I’m reaching out to ask for your help on behalf of my brother, Jeremy, and his family.
Many of you know that I’ve been walking my own road with cancer—and now, in a heartbreaking twist none of us could have imagined, my brother Jeremy has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
It all began the Wednesday before Memorial Day weekend. Jeremy wasn’t feeling well and thought he might be coming down with the flu. He went to urgent care, just to be safe. After some concern, the doctor there recommended he go to the ER for a closer look. Jeremy and his wife, Becky, went straight to Valley Emergency, where they ran labs and a CT scan.
While they were waiting for results, an oncologist who happened to be reviewing labs noticed something concerning—Jeremy’s blood counts were dangerously low. She came into the room, began asking questions, and gently shared words no one ever expects to hear:
“You have leukemia.”
Everything changed in an instant.
Jeremy was immediately transferred to Sacred Heart Medical Center, where more tests confirmed the diagnosis. Dr. Kodali, the oncologist there, sat down with them and officially confirmed that Jeremy has AML. In just a few hours, their world was turned upside down.
The doctors quickly determined that Jeremy’s best chance for treatment would be at Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle—one of the nation’s top cancer centers. On Monday, June 2nd, Becky, Jeremy, and I traveled there together to meet his care team. He underwent more testing to assess how aggressive the disease is, and we expect to know more about his treatment plan by Thursday, June 5th.
As you can imagine, this diagnosis has been a heavy and overwhelming shock for Jeremy and his family. Treatment will begin soon and will require Jeremy to remain in Seattle for at least a month—far from home, his children, his work, and everything familiar. During this time, he and Becky will be facing significant out-of-pocket expenses: temporary lodging, food, travel costs, and all the small but essential things that insurance doesn’t cover.
We are asking, from the depths of our hearts, for your support. Whether it’s a financial contribution, sharing this page, or sending love and prayers—any kindness helps. Your support means more than words can say. It gives Jeremy and his family the space to focus on what matters most: healing, strength, and hope.
Thank you for standing with Jeremy in this fight. We’re deeply grateful.

With love,
The Renken Family
