Help Jeremy and Andrea with Medical Expenses
Donation protected
As many of you know, Jeremy has been diagnosed with autoimmune cerebellar ataxia, which is quite rare, especially in an adult and with no cancer present. Despite all the IVIG and plasmapheresis treatments, Jeremy is still unable to walk without relying heavily on a walker and can only go short distances before needing to sit down again. His vision, speech, and feeling in his hands, arms, and legs have also been greatly impacted. Jeremy went to UW in May as his symptoms were starting to worsen again, even after getting a recent IVIG treatment. They gave him a chemotherapy treatment that can be used in chronic autoimmune cases, which helped a little bit. Jeremy and Andrea are currently waiting on insurance approval of another type of chemotherapy, which could help as well. Before Jeremy went to UW, a referral was sent to the Mayo Clinic by their neurologist. Thankfully, that referral has been approved, and Jeremy and Andrea will be traveling to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, at the end of July. Since Jeremy used to work in Canada, he is eligible for some benefits, but unfortunately, the amount is very small and doesn't come close to covering their normal monthly expenses. This GoFundMe will greatly help Jeremy and Andrea with medical costs, gas for traveling to and from appointments in Bellingham and Seattle, and regular bills as both of them haven’t been able to work since January as Jeremy relies on Andrea as a caregiver.
Before all of this, Jeremy was an avid outdoorsman. He was known for all of his hunting and hiking adventures. Being outside and being active gave him so much joy and made him feel closer to God. Hunting is his passion, and being able to provide meat for his family every year is extremely important to him. Jeremy, Andrea, and their three daughters, Kaylyn, Vienna, and Kierra, love camping and going on overnight backpacking trips too. Before getting sick in January, Jeremy was running multiple miles every week and hiking almost every weekend. He was in the best shape of his life. It is still completely unknown as to how Jeremy got this, as he is rarely sick, and even if he has a cold or the flu, he would be out hiking or chopping wood. Nothing gets this guy down!
Please continue to keep Jeremy, Andrea, and their family in your prayers during this difficult time!
