UPDATE: It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we share that Jeremiah has passed away from his injuries. Despite the tireless efforts of medical staff and the prayers and support from so many, his young life was taken far too soon.

Jeremiah was deeply loved and will always be remembered for his gentle spirit, intelligence, and kind heart. His loss has left an immeasurable void in the lives of his family, especially his mother and siblings, who are now grieving an unthinkable loss.

Jeremiah Thomas, a gentle and intelligent 16-year-old boy, was tragically and unexpectedly shot by a stranger. He is currently in critical condition, and this senseless act of violence has forever changed his life and his family’s.

His mother, Dianne, is a devoted single mom who has worked tirelessly to care for him and his siblings. Overnight, her world has been turned upside down. As she stays by her son’s side, she is also trying to remain strong for her other children, all while facing overwhelming expenses that continue to grow each day creating an impossible financial burden. No family should have to worry about finances while fighting for their child’s life.

I am a close family friend and I’m trying to help ease some burden by asking for help to support this family during their darkest hour.
