Help Jeremiah Return to College

  • Hi, my name is Jeremiah, and though I don't expect much from making this, my friend has insisted I should try at least. I made this GoFundMe because I really don't have any other choices right now. I'm 19 and will be 20 this year. I just went through my first semester of college a few months ago at Sussex County Community College. I have football dreams, though Sussex was one of my only options to help me develop. Unfortunately, because of the partnership between Sussex and another university called Centenary, I had two bills over $7,000 each semester: one for housing at Centenary and the other for schooling. My financial aid didn't cover everything. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to continue going to college because of mistakes I made and bills I couldn't pay.

  • For a 3 and a half month period in college, I fell into a deep depression due to many factors. The first was the horrible way my first college football season went, as I went from aspirations of starting on the defensive line to injury in the first 2 weeks, trying to claw my way back, only to ultimately be put on offense with a near-broken wrist and thumb. D-line is my dream, but I've come to realize God's plan might not be playing football for me. The next reason was my graduating high school a few months late, leading me to have no time to rest in between, which was my fault. I wasn't ready for college; none of it ever seemed real to me. Then I had a huge falling out with a woman I feel I truly love, which sent me into a horrible downward spiral at college, leading to a bunch of bad decisions.

  • At the end of this "depression bender," for lack of a better term, I ended up being SA'd by a girl I barely knew. At first, we kind of flirted, but when she invited herself over to my room, I decided I didn't want to engage in that self-destructive behavior to help me cope. Unfortunately, she persisted in having sex even after I declined multiple times, even going as far as to kiss me and insist further. In the end, all the built-up stress led to me not leaving my room much unless to shower and eat once every other day or so, gaining the attention of friends as I offered up my Thanksgiving food and then months later my birthday cake. I didn't notice I was losing weight, but a friend near and dear to me was able to break through to me and help me start socializing again.

  • Now, fast-forward to now, and I'm back home because of my academic bomb of a semester. I want to go back to playing football, but I need closer to $7,000 or $8,000 to pay off everything for both colleges, so I plan to go back to Centenary and just be a full-time student there and try to become a football coach one day. Now saying that, I had to make this because of the hiring freeze right now, which is forcing me to be stagnant no matter how many jobs I apply to. Anything anyone can send would be helpful. This is to pay off my Centenary debt so I can attend this school once again with a better mindset and foundation. Thank you.
