On Tuesday, Dec 30, 2025, my son Jeremiah returned home to his college apartment after holiday break, only to find his apartment had been robbed. The burglars even had a key to the front door to gain access. As a result, he has lost everything of value. $1000 in cash, and all the expected electronics that a modern 22-year-old would have are gone. TV, gaming system, bluetooth speakers, bike, etc.. His largest emotional loss is the backpacking gear he has slowly been obtaining since going away to school. This kid loves the trail! This spring, he is set to graduate from the University of Vermont in Burlington, and he's been planning a cross-country National Park trip for the summer of 2026 with his outdoor crew. Also missing is his back country snowboard and ski gear, another significant financial loss of things his parents have slowly been providing to him over the years. They even took his electric toothbrush! As a senior in college, starting his final semester, and planning for "life" afterwards, this is an enormous setback. If you know Jeremiah, you know he's an incredibly sweet and friendly young man, who would give his shirt to someone who needed it. He's been maintaining a full Mechanical Engineering course load for 3.5 years, while working 20 hours a week to help make ends meet for himself, but in reality, he's still a broke Ramen-eating college student. Please consider helping if you can, any little bit helps. He is currently working on an itemized list of items stolen, which I will share here once it's done.
