Jeremiah’s Fight Continues – An Update

Donation protected
To our incredible community — thank you.

Since Jeremiah’s leukemia diagnosis on June 6th, 2023, you have lifted him with your generosity, prayers, and unwavering love. You have helped carry Jeremiah and Maegen through some of the darkest, most uncertain moments of their lives. Many of you supported our first fundraiser, and because of that help, Jeremiah was able to receive vital treatment, relocate for care, and stay in the fight.

We wish this update came with better news — but the road has become more difficult.

Just as Jeremiah and Maegen relocated to Phoenix for what was meant to be time for his 2nd transplant and a six-month recovery period at the Mayo Clinic, a new and aggressive mutation of his leukemia was discovered. It had already reached his brain and spinal cord. Emergency chemotherapy was administered directly to his central nervous system in an attempt to halt or slow the cancer’s progression.

The hope was that this would allow him to qualify for another clinical trial at Mayo — the last treatment option available there. Tragically, he was ruled ineligible.

In response, Mayo Clinic submitted an urgent referral to MD Anderson in Houston, which offers the most expansive range of clinical trials in the country. Time is of the essence. Within 24 hours of receiving the referral, Maegen packed up their life in Phoenix, and I (his sister) flew out to support Jeremiah so she could return to New Mexico. Jeremiah’s first appointment is scheduled for May 12th. Travel and housing for this transition have been secured, and Jeremiah’s first appointment is set for May 12th.

We share all of this as an update — not just on Jeremiah’s medical condition, but on the resilience he and Maegen continue to show in the face of unimaginable hardship. And once again, we’re reaching out to ask for help.

While we’re relieved the logistics are in place, the truth is: this journey is far from over.

We are re-opening this fundraiser because the ongoing medical expenses are overwhelming — and they will continue for the foreseeable future. Hospital bills, tests, medications, costs pile up, often with no warning and no clear end.

This is where your continued support means everything.

If you’re able to donate, your gift will go directly toward helping Jeremiah and Maegen navigate the long road ahead — easing the financial burden so they can focus on what matters most: fighting, healing, and holding on to hope.

If you’ve given before — thank you. If you’ve prayed, shared, or simply held Jeremiah and Maegen in your hearts — thank you. Your support has helped sustain them, and our family, through every twist and turn.

Please know: donations are not expected, and we fully understand the weight everyone carries in their own lives. But if you're able to give — or share this page — it will make a meaningful difference during this critical time.

We continue to believe that where one door closes, another will open — and with your support, Jeremiah will keep walking through them.

With love and endless gratitude,
Jeremiah’s Family
