My name is Jerel, and life has thrown me more than a fair share of challenges lately. I’ve worked hard as a teacher and tutor, always believing in helping others reach their potential. Right now, I’m the one who needs help.

Over the past year I’ve been battling cancer while also dealing with unemployment. The treatments, hospital visits, and toll on my body have been overwhelming. On top of that, I was denied unemployment benefits from the Texas Workforce Commission, leaving me without the financial support I need to stay afloat. Between medical bills, daily expenses, and the stress of lost income, it feels like the weight of the world is pressing down on me.

I don’t like asking for help, but I can’t do this alone. Your support will go directly toward covering living expenses, medical needs, and giving me a fighting chance to focus on healing instead of worrying about keeping a roof over my head.

Here’s how the funds will be used. Rent and utilities come to about $1,200 each month. Groceries and basic living costs add another $400. Medical expenses not covered by insurance usually run between $300 and $500 a month, including prescriptions and co-pays. Transportation to and from appointments is about $150 a month.

Altogether, a goal of around $2,500 to $3,000 covers about one month of survival expenses. Every contribution goes directly to keeping me housed, fed, and able to continue treatment without falling further behind.
