Hello, my name is John. My friend Jeramie, whom I am honored to call brother, needs help but will not ask for it. Back on March 14, 2022, Jeramie fell and was unable to walk after that. He remained immobile for 4 months. After having a physical therapist work on him 3-4 times a week, he was finally able to get up. Since then, he has required assistance with walking, using crutches. However, we still do not know the cause of all of this. We have been advised that his IT band, psoas muscle, adductor brevis, and adductor longus all have damage. Jeramie and his wife have been saving up to take him to Houston, where they can do an open MRI, EMG Nerve testing, as well as blood work, and other scans they need to provide him with a diagnosis as well as possible treatment to repair all damage. That plan changed on November 17, 2023, when they went from being a family of 3 to a family of 5 overnight. Jeramie and his wife obtained full custody of Jeramie's biological twins. Without going into too much detail, his twins went through abuse, trauma, and neglect. His wife Alma is now tending to their mental health and making sure they have all the help and resources they need to heal and move on from their trauma. This has not only taken time away from Jeramie's care, but it has cost them all their savings. Getting the twins everything they needed when they first got here, to assuring they can attend school activities as well as sports, and continue to provide for all three of their children has left them in a tight spot. I fear the longer it takes to get him tested and diagnosed, the harder it will be to reverse this. This is a family that always lends out a helping hand, even when they have little to their name, they will give you the shirt off their backs.
