Help Jenny's Fight Against Glioblastoma
Donation protected
My name is Janaye, and this story is in honor of my sister/sister in law, Jenny Gilsdorf.
Josh, my brother, and Jenny, have been soul mates since the young age of 18 years old. They have been dealt many challenging situations, from losing both of her parents at a young age, some of their best friends, and more family. Despite the challenges they faced, they’ve created a beautiful family, a daughter (11) and son (7) , and a peaceful life & home out on Lake Zumbro. They are two of the strongest humans that I know.
In the beginning December of 2024, Jen started having headaches that were unbearable and eventually hospitalized her. During the first ER visit, Mayo quickly realized that there was something abnormal on her CT scans. She had a brain mass. She was hospitalized for a week and a half while they worked her up for lymphoma. She went through many scans and had biopsy’s done on her lymph areas, but the results were negative. No lymphoma. This meant that they would need to be more invasive and go in for a brain biopsy. The brain biopsy revealed a Glioma initially, but the doctors were hopeful with her young age and good health. They had put her on steroids and anti-seizure medication to keep her safe, though she was still struggling with headaches and discomfort.
Fast forward to January 2025. The word “Glioblastoma” hit the family like a ton of bricks. It’s hard to grasp the words to describe the feelings that we experienced. This diagnosis came on 1/2 and by 1/8, Jenny was rushed to the ER by Josh because of the deterioration in her mentation and physical status. The Neuro team performed emergency brain surgery to remove as much of the tumor as they could, as they felt the symptoms were caused by the pressure of the tumor on the brainstem.
Jen spent another 2 weeks in the hospital and in brain rehab. Since then, she has been home- has completed 2 weeks of radiation, and has been on oral chemo. This week, they are discussing more aggressive chemo and treatment options. She is being so strong through all of this, and making the best effort to fight the odds. And Josh has been right there beside her.
Anyone who knows these two, know that they would never ask for help. They’re more likely to give than receive. As a sister, I feel so strongly about helping their family in this desperate time. Please join me in supporting Josh, Jenny, and the kids as they fight this undeserving battle, and let them know that they don’t have to do it alone.
ALL donations will go to Josh and Jenny.
Thank you so much!!
