I am a pastor in Lake City, Colorado and have made 9 mission trips to Central America. On one of these trips I met Jenny, a teacher whose family lives in a rural area. She has a daughter, Carla, who has been battling brain cancer, and last year I conducted a successful GoFundMe for her. Carla is still in that battle. To add difficulty to difficulty, on February 21, a cooking fire got out of control and burned to the ground the house of Jenny's parents, Cesar (78) and Mercedes (68), and the neighboring house of her aunt Carmen. By God's grace they were all spared injury, but their modest homes and all the contents were entirely lost. Cesar and Mercedes also lost their source of income, a small market that sold rice, beans, sugar, and bread. The local authorities provided them a plastic tarp for shelter, but that is all (see one of the photos below). This is a very poor family that has no other resources. This fundraiser will provide for two small block homes built with local labor in order to give the three of them a safe place to live, and to help rebuild their business. You can see more of the devastation in this Video. Their situation is desperate and heartbreaking. Please help if you can with your prayers, monetary donations, and sharing this fundraiser with as many people as you can. Feel free to ask me any questions. With heartfelt gratitude, Lyn Lampert
