Help Jenny with uncovered medical expenses

Hi, my name is Kelly Holton, and I am fundraising for Jenny Hansen.

Seven years ago when she had just turned 40, Jenny found out she had a rare ovarian cancer (granulosa cell cancer). She had surgery, and the cancer was removed. Two years later, the cancer returned and a second surgery was needed along with chemotherapy. To everyone's heartbreak five years later, it has recently reoccurred in her liver. She will need surgery again, along with aggressive chemotherapy to combat this.

She will have surgery on her liver this January 11th. She will need to have a port put in after that for chemo therapy. Since this is a rare cancer, they are not sure how long or aggressive the chemo treatments will be, but she has been told this cancer is hard to kill. Her recovery from surgery will be around 8-12 weeks and chemotherapy determined after the surgery.

She will need some help with medical bills. With her surgery on the 11th, she already knows that her anesthesia is not covered by her insurance. She will need to have another treatment to put her port in her chest for chemo, and she is not sure if it will be covered . She also is not sure how long she will be away from work. Colleagues will be donating sick leave, but at this time we do not know how much she will need. She has three boys and an amazing husband who depend on her daily, so any help with household expenses will be welcomed.

She is also asking for prayers and emotional support during this incredibly hard time. She loves knitting, animals, coffee, music and loves working with her special education preschoolers.

It's just hard to have huge medical bills when we have three big boys and getting everyone fed and happy.

We don’t live an extravagant life style, we just want to be happy. I am so afraid about not being able to pay bills.

I love you, Jenny Hansen and I consider you one of the most positive, caring, thoughtful, and selfless people I know. I feel so lucky to be your co-worker and friend, and I will be with you every step of the way through this journey.
