Jenny is a devoted mother and the sole provider for her three adult sons, all of whom have autism. Her husband, Steve, has a severe mental illness and has not been able to work or provide support for over two years. This has left Jenny to shoulder the full responsibility of caring for her family, including one son who has a rare autoimmune disease that requires expensive medication, and another who struggles with suicidal ideation. Despite these challenges, Jenny works tirelessly at Walmart to provide for her family, but her income only covers their most basic needs.

Their home in rural Florida, a mobile home on their own land, is in urgent need of repairs. The well keeps breaking, and a severe mold problem is causing health issues for the family. The most immediate crisis they face is overdue property taxes that must be paid by April 30th to avoid losing their home to auction, leaving them with nowhere to go. The amount needed for the back taxes is significant, and meeting this deadline is critical for keeping a roof over their heads. Their only car is over 20 years old and requires frequent repairs, making it even harder for Jenny to get to work and care for her family.
