Hello! My name is Jenny McCabe, animal lover and rescue mama. Last night we were finally able to catch a stray kitty who has been a frequent visitor at our house. We feed our neighborhood cats and leave a heated cat house on every night. This little dude has been coming by for a few weeks now, and I noticed on our cat cameras that he seemed to be getting skinnier and a little more unsteady on his feet. I’ve been worrying about him for days. We saw him laying in the middle of our street a few days ago on top of a sewer vent, I assume to try and get as much warmth as he could from below. That’s when I knew we had to try and get him. Last night was a miracle and pure luck. I went out to break up a neighborhood cat squabble, and there caught in the cross fire was our guy with the tiniest scared meow. He was incredibly unsure of me and it took a little coaxing but I was able to get him and bring him inside for some much needed warmth. Unfortunately I do think we’ve got a little bit a road ahead of us for treatment. I’m not sure how long this little guy was on his own for and it definitely shows. We wanted to get him checked for a microchip and vetted immediately, and have made an appointment this morning to run labs, treat for fleas, and get him up to date on vaccines. As my fellow pet owners know this is not an inexpensive vet visit and one that we weren’t prepared for. Instead of overburdening our local rescues we would love to take care of this dude and try to find his family on our own. That being said we need a little help. I know times are hard right now for all of us and any little bit helps, even just a share of this post. I am setting the donation amount at $1000.
