Help Jenny on Her Journey (Cancer Sucks!)
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Lauren and I am starting this GoFundMe for my best friend and favorite person, Jenny Hosch. Jenny was recently diagnosed with Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia (CMML). This is a rare form of leukemia for someone Jenny's age. (To learn more about CMML, please visit www.cancer.org)
Jenny recently visited Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL and she learned that her only real treatment option is to get a bone marrow transplant. We are hopeful that her brother will be a match for her and that she will not have to be placed on the donor registry to find another donor.
If she is a candidate for transplant, she would face aggressive chemotherapy and a fairly long hospital stay.
We are hoping to help Jenny with her medical bills that are already mounting as well as the bills that must continue to be paid when treatment starts.
What can I do to help if I am unable to donate money?
1. Donate blood - there are so many people in the world who are in need of blood transfusions on a daily basis and donating blood helps people like Jenny who will require multiple blood transfusions. You can ask your blood bank to give blood in honor of Jenny Hosch. You can also ask if your blood can be sent to specific places such as LeBohneur and St. Jude. (www.vitalant.org)
2. Get on the registry - get screened to be a bone marrow/stem cell donor. (https://bethematch.org)
3. Listen to your body! If something doesn't feel right, go get it checked out.
4. Please share this link and Jenny's story
We will continue to make updates to this page as we have them. We appreciate all the prayers and positive vibes. Please feel free to share this link as many times as you can. Thank you all so much. Jenny sends her love and gratitude to each and every one of you!
