Our family is walking through something we never imagined. A few days ago, my sister Jenny suffered a hemorrhagic stroke (brain bleed). She is currently at St. Mary's and is now facing a long road to recovery filled with therapy, rest, and countless medical appointments.

Anyone who knows Jenny knows she’s the one who always shows up — the friend who drops off meals without being asked. She gives even when she doesn’t have much to give; that’s just who she is.

Now, she’s the one who needs help.

While she focuses on healing and regaining her strength, the financial stress that comes with unexpected medical emergencies is overwhelming. Although she does not fully know it yet, she will not be able to work for quite some time, and the last thing I want is for her to worry about bills when her only job right now should be getting better.

I’m hoping this GoFundMe can help lift some of that burden — to give her peace of mind and the space to focus on recovery surrounded by love, not worry, and can bring her one step closer to recovery.
