On January 6, 2025, our dear friend and colleague, Jenny Markotay, started her day like any other. But what began as mild neck pain quickly escalated into a medical emergency. As her condition worsened, she was brought to the Emergency Room, where imaging revealed a life-threatening splenic hemorrhage. Jenny was immediately placed on a mass transfusion protocol and underwent an interventional radiology procedure.

Thanks to the incredible teamwork of her colleagues at Poudre Valley Hospital, Jenny’s life was saved. She is deeply grateful for the quick action and compassion of her coworkers, who went above and beyond.

Jenny is a dedicated case manager who has always cared for others, but now she’s the one who needs our help. She faces a long road to recovery—both physically and mentally—and will be unable to work for the foreseeable future.
