Help Jenny & Guillermo recover from Mold
Donation protected
Hey Family!
Jenny and Guillermo are in need of our support.
Many of us have shared sweet times in their little beach house in Encinitas. They have spent a long time cultivating this space and are being forced to move due to toxic mold pervading the building. Mold is a serious issue and each individual's body processes exposure differently. Unfortunately, Jenny has suffered very serious medical issues that led to the discovery of mold in her home. Due to the severity of her symptoms, she is being forced to throw out most of her possessions to not risk cross-contamination when they move into their new home. As this was unexpected, the cost of moving suddenly, the loss of work, and the stacking medical expenses have made this a challenging time financially for this amazing couple.
Please consider donating whatever you can, and sharing this fundraiser with others. All donations are valuable and community sources of support are how we can weather these challenging times. No one should have to go through this alone and hopefully we can lighten their load by supporting them during this huge transition.
Please read on for their personal story written by Jenny:
On November 17, 2022 I woke up with a vertigo attack. A few days later I lost my equilibrium and have been wobbly since. I got hit with a severe vestibular migraine with photosensitivity, extreme eye pain, tingling fingers, slurring speech, tinnitus, and nausea. I was diagnosed with eustachian tube dysfunction, then a vestibular attack, and iritis which is inflammation behind the eyes. I have had to take off work and reduce my driving.
I was told to blow a balloon 5 times a day for 2 weeks and chew gum for the eustachian tube dysfunction. Then told me to take a migraine medication/antidepressant to cure the migraine. I went to 5 different specialists to find out what was wrong, but nobody could tell me the root cause. I did an MRI, an EKG, and over 30 different blood labs, and went to a functional neurologist, acupuncturist and naturopath. I went to PT for vertigo. After all this, I decided to test my home for mold. Turns out we had one of the worst strands of the black mold you can have called Stachybotrys.
I evacuated the home and Guillermo stayed there. I stayed at multiple friends' houses for the past month. Still going to doctors' appointments and none of them had anything to say about mold toxicity when I told them. Still dealing with symptoms, I realized it was time for us to move and start healing. After three months- I have been dealing with strange and painful symptoms of vertigo and eye stuff.
We are in the process of throwing away most of our things and getting ready for the move, cleansing, and rebuilding our life.
Your help would be so appreciated- as mold stuff completely turns your life upside down- as we had to get rid of all our furniture. Racked up three months of medical bills, and have expensive mycotoxin treatments and home cultivating to do. Not only that but I just need a break to rest and heal from the mycotoxins.
From the bottom of my heart to yours, and thanks for reading, Jenny and Guillermo.
