Hello,
I am Jennifer and on May 1st, I have received the worst news in my life. I was confirmed that I had Hodgkin Lymphoma which is a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system. Never had I thought at 22 years old I would be diagnosed with cancer. My husband and I have just bought a house and thought we had a healthy life ahead of us. My oncologist believes I might be at stage 4, but it will not be confirmed until I have a bone marrow biopsy.
I first noticed bumps on my neck that we're swollen. Then, I would be so fatigue and get fevers that would come and go. The doctor's I would visit will tell me that I just had a bad infection. I was given antibiotics and steroids to reduce the swelling. The swelling did not go away and I was referred to an ENT specialist. The ENT specialist ordered a pet scan, CT scans, and a biopsy. The biopsy results confirmed my diagnosis. The pet Scan results showed I have swollen lymph nodes in my neck and in my chest. I still have other tests that need to be made. They will be doing a bone marrow biopsy as well in the upcoming week to see if the cancer has spread. I have insurance but I still have to pay a portion of what the insurance doesn't cover. My medical bills have caused for other bills to not be paid. This has been so overwhelming because I am no longer able to be a provider for my family. This is why I have created this account so the burden can be reduced on my husband and family.
Please keep my family and I in your thoughts and prayers. I want to be able to come out of this by being the strongest and best possible version of myself but I need a little assistance financially. I have a three year old that needs his mom to be strong through this difficult battle. I appreciate you all and any help you are able to offer. I feel so supported and loved by everyone around me and so grateful to be here to experience this love.
