Help Jenny and Matt through unknown medical costs.

Donation protected

Matt was admitted to Midland St John of God  on Easter Saturday after feeling off for a few
days and agreeing to go to the Doctor.
He thought Matt might have appendicitis.        Due to covid Jenny was only allowed to drop
him at ED, not stay.

They did a ct and decided to admit him for
pain relief and observation. The next day he
was told it was not appendicitis but an adrenal mass of 7cm that had burst and the bleeding is what was causing the pain. They wanted to do more ct's of his abdomen and chest.

When Jenny went to see him the next day he was told it was likely melanoma.

They waited to see the adrenal surgeon who
also told them there were spots on his spine,
lungs and lymph nodes.
Luckily they were already seeing an amazing
oncologist who's specialty is melanoma.
He fit them in within 2 days.

They discussed Matt’s  headaches at the same time. On Monday the 20th Matt had a biopsy
of his lymph node. On Tuesday the 21st Matt  had a ct of his brain and a PET scan. They were called by the dr to see him that day. And given the news. The full extent of how far and wide
the cancer had spread.

His first double treatment of immunotherapy was done on Friday the 24th. He seemed ok
after but was tired. For the next few days he
mostly slept. Then the pain and nausea started He was not able to eat and was in constant
agony. They went back to the oncologist and
Matt was put on oral morphine. Once the pain got manageable the nausea settled. He is still not eating very much. Because of the cancer in his adrenal glands and the treatment he has
a thirst that is only quenched for short periods by drinking water. He is drinking 4-5 l (if not
more) a day and needing to wee all the time.
He is going to bed around 630 every night and sleeping in short bursts between extreme
thirst and needing the loo.
He got sleeping tablets that he did not react
well with. It had Jenny wondering if it was the golf ball sized tumour in his head and if it was making his personality change. This stressed
her out as she wondered if this is what he was going to be like.
Jenny is  scared to leave him alone.

Due to the tumour in his brain he is not
allowed to drive as he is at risk of seizure also not a good idea with the massive amounts of
pain killers he is on. The pain meds are
working and he seems to have found a regime where his pain is tolerable but not dozey.

Unfortunately Jenny has now used up all
of her leave to care for Matt and of course         their daughter Sarah.

For anyone keen to try and help Jenny, Matt
and Sarah, any donation of any amount will
help to allow the family as much time togetheras possible ❤️

Matt urges everyone if they don’t do                          ANYTHING else, to please get a yearly skin
