On Saturday, January 22, 2022, our beautiful friend Jennifer Garcia was senselessly hit by a car as she was walking with her young son near their home in Arcata, California. True to form, Jenn had enough time to push her son out of harm's way and take all the impact upon herself. He thankfully was unharmed. Jenn was immediately transferred to a local hospital but after being evaluated was airlifted that evening to a hospital in Santa Rosa, about 4 hours from the family's home. She has sustained a great deal of trauma from the impact. There are numerous broken bones, a fractured pelvis as well as major trauma to the brain. As of the creation of this, she is still in a medically induced coma while doctors allow her body to heal and attempt to relieve the pressure on her brain. They are hoping to waken her from this soon, but time will tell. Meanwhile, we hope and pray for her recovery. One thing is certain. This is going to be a LONG road ahead for Jenn and her family. From medical expenses to physical therapy and child care, to her husband Yani having to travel back and forth from Arcata to the hospital in Santa Rosa, they need all the help right now. Any little bit will help. If you know Jenn, she is truly a friend to all and would be the first to help anyone in need if she could.
