Help Jenniffer Recover from Life-Support Trauma
Donation protected
- My name is Jenniffer. I’m 41. I went to the hospital on Feb 16th and ended up on life support and intubated within 30 minutes. Next thing, I was in a coma and being kept alive by machines. I got sepsis staphylococcus, and cardiogenic shock and congestive heart failure .I don’t remember much, but the bacteria traveled to my heart and lungs very quickly. I now have to live with severe damage to my heart. I was then life-flighted to Holmes Regional. I came out of my coma (I believe because my husband was playing Christian music; it brought me back). I was then transferred to Kindred, where they helped me with physical therapy, removing my trachea and feeding tube, and ultimately, they were all amazed and are doing a success story on me. Even the doctors were amazed at how quickly I returned. 49 days, and I’m now home as of 2 days ago. I am SOOOO grateful to be alive, seeing how I coded 5 times!!!
- My husband did his best to work, getting calls from the hospitals telling him, “You need to get here fast; it’s not good!” He said every time they called, it was just worse news than the last. So he did his best to work with his wife on life support, but unfortunately got very behind because he wanted to spend every second with me. The truth is, he truly believed I was going to die, and he was a wreck! Who wouldn’t be?
- 9 days before the “incident,” we had just moved into a new house, which with deposits, rent, security, and all of our other bills, we were not doing good financially. Because of this, we got behind on our truck payment, storage payments, insurance, etc. We have no family to even come help take care of me during the day, or just for support. It’s always been just us (and Jesus). I am struggling, but I am determined to get strong again. It’s painful and mentally exhausting. I worked out every morning(serious workouts, HIIT & cardio/yoga, Pilates.) I am really confused how I now have to be on heart medicines, take my blood pressure, and weigh myself EVERY day. I’m on home health care(which I’m grateful for) and doing pt, ot to get my strength up and trying to get back to normal as soon as possible. Please know your donation will help me so much. We’re struggling financially and ANY donation counts and I’m Thankful beyond words. Thank you! God bless everyone that donates.
