Hi, my name is Yessi, and I’m raising funds for my sister, Jennifer, who is fighting for her life. She is only 24 years old. Just days ago she was perfectly healthy, and then without warning, everything changed.

Jennifer is now on multiple life-support machines. She’s on a ventilator because she can no longer breathe on her own. She’s on dialysis because her kidneys have shut down. And she’s connected to a machine that is literally keeping her heart beating, because her heart can’t do it by itself right now. Watching her go through this has been the most terrifying and heartbreaking experience of our lives. The doctors are doing everything they can to figure out what caused this sudden, devastating collapse of her health.

Because of the severity of her condition, Jennifer had to be air-lifted by helicopter from Las Vegas to Utah for emergency care. This transfer, along with her ongoing treatment, has created unexpected expenses, and we don’t know how long she will need to remain hospitalized.

We are a very small and close family, and my mom and I have dropped everything to be here with her. We refuse to leave her side. We hold her hand, talk to her, anything to remind her that she is loved and that we are waiting for her. Not knowing when she will wake up or how long her recovery will be is a weight that is crushing emotionally and financially. I love my sister so deeply. I cannot imagine my world without her. None of us can.

If you know Jennifer, you know she is a kind, gentle soul who brings love and joy to everyone around her. She does not deserve this. None of us were prepared for something so sudden, so life-shattering.
