I am reaching out for help during one of the most challenging times in my life. After being out on leave from work due to a back injury, I was unexpectedly fired on July 2nd, 2025. Since then, I’ve been back in the hospital for three weeks, and my family has been doing everything they can to visit me—often relying on costly Uber and bus rides. My husband’s paycheck is stretched thin just covering transportation, and the bills at home are piling up. To make matters worse, our house has no working heat, and the cold air makes my arthritis even more painful. Once I am released from the hospital, I’ll be transferring to an inpatient physical therapy rehabilitation center, and eventually returning home where the cold will continue to affect my recovery. Any support received would go directly toward transportation, fixing our heater, and helping us stay afloat during this difficult period.
On top of everything, my 5-year-old dog Zoey has been sick and suffering for a year. She means the world to me, and it’s heartbreaking to see her in pain. I need help to take her to a new vet so we can finally get her healthy again. Your support would make a huge difference for Zoey as well as for my family.
My oldest son Adrian has also been deeply affected by my situation. He lost his job because his focus has been on supporting me, and there have been several occasions where he was unable to work due to the emotional toll of seeing me in the hospital. His heart has been hurting over my struggles, and I want to help him get back on his feet too.
My children have missed out on having me there for special occasions. On my daughter’s last birthday, I was in the hospital under anesthesia for an MRI. I missed my middle son’s graduation and had to watch it remotely while I was getting epidural back injections that couldn’t be rescheduled. I owe them all so much, and it breaks my heart that my health has kept me from being there for these important moments.
Beyond these immediate needs, I am also hoping to provide a nice Christmas for my kids. They haven’t had a proper holiday since 2019, and I know how much they deserve some joy after all they’ve been through. My kids are terrified with me being back in the hospital, and it breaks my heart that my mental and physical health struggles have kept me from being the mom they need. I just want to do right by them and help put the light back into their lives.
