You never think it will happen to you or your family. But it did, and I have no other options left. My job and income were illegally taken away from me—my boss deliberately bounced my last paycheck, and over two years later, he still hasn’t reimbursed me for what he owes. He committed wage theft and tax fraud, and I haven’t been able to apply for any help because he illegally declared me as an independent contractor when I was a full-time employee. He promised in front of an attorney to clear things up and pay what he owed for state and federal taxes, but he never followed through. Because he never officially released me from work, I haven’t been able to apply for any assistance.
Two years ago, I had my seventh major surgery for Stage 4 Endometriosis, Interstitial Cystitis, Bladder Endometriosis, PCOS, Chronic Pelvic Pain, and more. My husband is self-employed, and we had to give up our insurance because our monthly premiums became unaffordable. This same boss also skipped out on paying my husband for his professional services. Now, we can’t afford groceries, let alone my necessary prescription medications. I’ve had to stop taking blood pressure medication, anti-anxiety, and antidepressants, which is dangerous. I’m mostly bedridden, fighting daily pain, nausea, headaches, migraines, severe Fibromyalgia, and other chronic illnesses. I was also diagnosed with skin cancer in April 2025, and the doctor said I must have the lesions removed within six months. It’s now nine months later, and I haven’t had the money for the procedure. If the cancer has spread, I can’t afford treatment. I need surgery again and can’t afford my doctor appointments.
Any funds raised will be used to pay for existing medical bills, ongoing care, surgery and rehab, prescription medications, groceries, debt from loss of income, emergency medical care, and urgent home repairs. I’ve reported my employer to the authorities, but haven’t received help. This situation has put my husband and son through sheer hell, and they shouldn’t have to watch me suffer as my quality of life declines. I’ve never asked for help like this before—I’ve always been the one helping others. My 88-year-old father survived lung cancer and needs my help, but I haven’t been able to care for him as my health fails. I need help to help myself and my family, so I can get medical treatment and eventually help others in need. I promise to provide an itemized accounting of every penny used for basic needs, treatment, and keeping our home. We don’t live in a fancy house—just a small home we haven’t been able to repair because every cent goes to bills, medications, utilities, and food.
