I am starting this fundraiser for my mom (Jennifer). If you know her, you know she is an incredibly hard-working, strong lady. But this news has forever changed her.
On December 31st, she went in for her yearly mammogram. She had to wait over the holiday for her results. On January 5th, they called her back in to have an ultrasound that was followed by a biopsy. On January 9th, she got the call from the doctor; she was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Stage 1 breast cancer.
Instead of a new year of magic and excitement, it has been filled with doctor appointments, fear of the unknown, and uncertainty that no one should have to face. At the end of the year, she had canceled her insurance due to the rising cost of her premium. She went with a different low-cost insurance that was a diabetes plan to help her with that condition. Little did she know she would be told she has cancer a couple of weeks into the new year.
So as the bills are piling up and a lumpectomy surgery in a couple of weeks, any funds she receives will go towards her medical bills and her treatments. Despite everything, she has continued working during this emotionally challenging time. Our family is deeply grateful for your support. I want to be able to help my mom's financial burden so she can focus on what matters the most, and that is fighting her cancer and healing. Even sharing this page helps more than you know. Thank you for helping my mom during the most difficult time of her life.
I want to give you a breakdown of some of her out-of-pocket costs so far: Biopsy $4,322, Specialist $150.00, Molli Clip Placement $1,171.06 (Feb 9th), Lumpectomy $9,949.89 (Feb 19th). She will also have hormone and radiation treatment that will follow surgery. Once again, we appreciate any donation; no matter the size, it will help with her financial burden.
