Help Jennifer Through Her Ongoing Health Battles

We need your prayers.. as some of you know, my sister, Jennifer, has been dealing with multiple health issues for quite a while. She has multiple autoimmune diseases as well as other health conditions. In April, we had to have her taken to the hospital by ambulance for the first time. When she arrived, her pulse oxygen level was only 41. Through testing, they figured out she had cellulitis in both legs and she was septic. As well as, her body doesn’t expel blood gasses properly due to one of her medical conditions. The blood gas levels were so severely high the doctors decided she needed to be transported to a bigger hospital that could provide better care and for her to be intubated. While waiting for transport, she became unresponsive. Her heart rate dropped to the low 40’s. We thought we were going to lose her. Thankfully, she came to after a few sternum rubs and a very loud nurse. When I looked outside the door, there were nurses and doctors standing in the hallway. I knew at that point, they were all prepared for her to code. It’s one of the scariest things I’ve ever been through. They were able to go ahead and transport her to the bigger hospital a little while later. Once she arrived, the ICU doctor was shocked to see her talking and alert. He was told she probably wouldn’t survive the trip. God had other plans! She spent a total of 8 days in the hospital. She came home with 24/7 oxygen, a noninvasive ventilator for sleeping, hospital bed, wheel chair, walker, and other equipment. She has had 2 (now 3 as she is currently in the hospital) other hospital trips since April. One resulting in another stay for basically the same thing in July. Thankfully, it wasn’t as bad. All of this said, it has caused her some major issues. She needs round the clock care. She is unable to walk more than 5-7 feet even with the use of assistance. She has tremors, severe pain, intolerance to hot/cold, head aches, insomnia and she has problems with her memory. Some days are worse than others. We’ve had everything from doesn’t remember if she ate a meal to doesn’t remember our address. It’s so hard and frustrating for her to realize she’s forgotten something she should know. Especially when she’s trying to say a word and it just won’t come out. This has affected her physically, mentally and emotionally. She has continued to decline despite the medicines.

She lost her job in May. I can’t go get a job to pay our bills.. I can’t leave her unattended. We are trying to get her on disability, but it’s a process. Our family, has been able to help some and we greatly appreciate it, but we’re struggling.
We appreciate you all!! Thank you for all the love and well wishes you all have sent her way.

We completely understand if you’re unable to financially help us. If you don’t mind, share and say an extra prayer for my sister as she is currently in the hospital once again. We’re hoping she will do well and be back home in the next day or two. Much love to you all!!
