Help Jennifer Re-establish Her Home

It can take time for the enormity of a loss to sink in...

As many of you have heard, longtime Santa Cruz artist and friend Jennifer Cordery lost her home — and everything in it — to the CZU Lightning Complex Fire that swept through the beautiful valley on Swanton Road.

In the middle of the night on August 19, Jennifer received the order to evacuate her home of 11 years. With the electricity out, and no clear idea of how much time she had, she gathered Alfi (the cat!), photo albums, passport, her guitar, a few items of clothing, and her bucket of paintbrushes... what was left behind was EVERYTHING else. Those of you who know Jennifer know this means not only pots and pans and dishes and clothing and books, etc., etc., but also the beautiful garden(s) she created and, particularly painful, almost ALL of her own artwork — years of drawings, paintings, mixed media pieces, and a lifetime of art materials gathered... things that really can’t easily be replaced.

Losing the slice of heaven that was her rented home/studio in Swanton has been devastating — and now begins the task of replacing a life’s worth of needs.

We're asking for your help for Jennifer in replacing everything she lost. Financial donations made through this GoFundMe page will be used to purchase clothing, household goods/furniture, art supplies, etc.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your help as Jennifer re-establishes a home/studio and life. Please feel free to share this far and wide.
