My name is Binny, and my mama never imagined shed be in a position where she’d need to ask for help. Recently, a car locksmith caused such extensive damage to her car’s operating systems that, after six weeks in the shop, my car was declared a total loss. This has been an incredibly stressful and overwhelming experience, and it’s turned her daily life upside down.

With mama’s car gone, she’s exhausted the rental vehicle coverage from her insurance. My Grandma Jojo has had to rearrange her schedule and go out of her way to bring mama and me groceries, medicine, and other necessities. She’s also been driving us whenever we absolutely have to go somewhere. Mama had to get special approval from her job to work fully remote instead of just a couple of days a week in the office. Even I am affected—if I get sicky or have an emergency, mama doesn’t have a way to get me to the vet quickly. It’s been a tough adjustment for both mama and me!

Mama is hoping to use any funds raised to pay my Grandma Jojo back for her incredible support (gas, tolls, food) and to put as large of a down payment as possible on a new car. My mama doesn’t ask for help normally—she usually the one leading fundraising efforts for others and supporting her friends whenever she can, even if it’s just with words of encouragement or a laugh. Mama and I even do Therapy Dog visits together to make people happy! But right now, mama could really use a helping hand.
