My name is Jennifer Landgraf. I am an American Jamaican, living in Jamaica most of the last 15 years. While I had been working in the Seattle area the last 18 months, I planned to reunite with my fiancé in Jamaica at the end of November permanently to start our tool rental business and live life. However, just five weeks before I was set to go home on a one-way ticket, O'Neill died suddenly on Sunday, October 19th from injuries received from a car accident in Sav La Mar, Jamaica.
Then, one week after O'Neill's death, hurricane Melissa a Cat 5 hurricane came ashore, severely damaging the rooftop of our little house. Sadly, I am returning to Jamaica at the end of November not only to arrange to bury O'Neill, but also to salvage whatever belongings I have left and to repair what was our little house as much as I can.
I am asking for donations to help with the expense of burying O'Neill, repairing the roof and windows and to buy food, hygiene products and tarps to make care packages to distribute to homeless Jamaican people. I will be distributing whatever care packages I can put together when I arrive on the island at the end of November.
My plan is to split any donations received between these three things. I am eternally grateful for anything you can donate. There is a Jamaican saying that every mickle makes a muckle. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Jennifer
