Help The Goff Family Rebuild After Well Fire
Donation protected

On 04-02-25, while home alone with her 2-year-old daughter, my friend of 18 years had a scary emergency that took place during a lightening storm. Jennifer (my dear friend) suddenly heard a loud buzzing/electrical noise and then a loud POP. Smoke then started making its way through her home. She got her daughter Sophia and herself out of the house to ensure their safety and called 911 as quickly as possible. Four firetrucks and multiple police officers appeared on scene and located the source of the smoke. The well for their house had caught fire. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but it has left their home currently uninhabitable because they are without power and water indefinitely.
Unfortunately, they don't have home insurance. So Jennifer called around to different well and restoration companies for a quote. The bill is looking to be over $10,000 to make the house livable again. The well, wiring, and pipes all need replaced. There is also 2 feet of water, from the broken pipes, in the crawl space that will needs to be pumped out before repairs can be done.
The American Red Cross has opened a disaster case for the family and they have provided resources to get them through just a few days but urgent help is needed to repair this house and assist the family. Please, please consider helping this family in their time of need. My worry for not only them but their precious daughter is sky high. Receipts and all other proof can be provided and the Flint Fire Department can be contacted to verify the situation. All funds will be used to make the home back in livable condition (getting the well repaired, pipes replaced wiring replaced, damage to the crawlspace repaired, water damage in that area as well repaired etc.
