Hi everyone,

My name is Audrey, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my mom, Jennifer. In 2024, she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, and since then, our world has completely changed. The cancer has spread to her hip, skull, liver, and knee, leaving her bones extremely fragile and brittle. Her knee has recently fractured, and she’s now back to using a wheelchair and walker — unable to move freely on her own.

She’s been through so much — rounds of radiation and hormone therapy, endless appointments, and countless nights in pain. The cancer has eaten away at her hip bone, leaving her unable to walk without assistance. She’s facing another possible surgery soon, depending on her MRI results, which will only add to her growing medical debt since she doesn’t have insurance.

My mom has always been a strong, selfless woman. She’s the kind of person who would give her last dollar to help someone else. But now, she’s the one who needs help.

She’s lost her car and is now living with her brother, Scott, and sister-in-law, who take care of her full-time. She’s on disability and can no longer work. She’s fallen behind on almost every bill — rent, electric, water, and loans — and the debt keeps piling up. This morning (October 16), her car was repossessed with our personal belongings inside, including birth certificates and Social Security cards, which we can’t retrieve right now.

I’m trying my best to keep up with her house, but it’s been overwhelming. Finding work in our small town has been difficult, and there’s little to no local help available. We’re scared — scared of losing everything. The house and our belongings are all we have left.

Through all of this, my mom has never stopped fighting. Even on her hardest days, she still smiles, still tries to make everyone around her laugh, and still keeps faith that things will somehow get better. She’s a proud grandma to a 2-year-old little boy who adores her more than anything. Watching them together gives us hope — and I can’t imagine him growing up without her by his side.
