Hi, My name is Jennifer, and I never imagined I would be in the position where I needed to ask for help like this... Everything in my life changed this past January, when my husband of 18 years unexpectedly walked out, leaving me alone with our three dogs, a mountain of overdue bills that I was unaware of, and no support to fall back on. I'm 50 years old and disabled, living with chronic illnesses that make it impossible for me to work. Since then, every day has been a struggle, just to get by.
Recently, things have gotten even harder. I suffered a serious fall that left me with new injuries to my hip, shoulder, neck, and back. I now spend most of my time in an arm sling, waiting for referrals for pain management and orthopedic care. Even the simplest of tasks have become incredibly difficult and feel so overwhelming now.
Through all of this, my dogs have been my only constant. They are my family. Right now, two of them are sick from tick-related illness and urgently need medication and veterinary care. Watching them suffer, and not having the means to help them has been heartbreaking.
I receive a very small amount of state assistance, but it barely covers food. I don't have any family nearby, and the few relatives that I do have are unable to help. A kind person from my church brought me toiletries recently, which meant so much, but I am unfortunately still lacking basic cleaning supplies and everyday necessities.
Right now, I'm facing eviction, and I'm on the verge of losing my home. I'm doing everything that I can to hold on and keep a roof over our heads, but I can't do this alone.
How your support will help:
- Catch up on overdue rent and avoid eviction.
- Pay essential bills and utilities.
- Cover urgent veterinary care and medication for my dogs.
- Help with basic necessities and household supplies.
Every donation, no matter how small, truly makes a difference. If you're not able to give, sharing this fundraiser would mean so much to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and any kindness you can offer my dogs and I during this incredibly difficult time.
