(Dog attacked day after attacking cat)

My name is Sarah and my bestie needs assistance. On Monday Sept 8th around 3am, her dog attacked & killed her 13yr old cat named Inferno. He had previously killed a cat but Jennifer & Jack had tried to give him the best life possible after having been in a horrible horder situation for the 1st year of his life. They spoiled him rotten & gave him everything he needed/wanted for 2 years. Something snapped and caused him to go after the cats.

So after dealing with the aftermath of loosing Inferno on Monday, they made they decision to euthanize Halligan for continued behavior issues. However! Before he could be taken in to be euthanized, Jack decided to let him out and have some final snuggles thinking Hal wouldn't go after them. Well Hal did!

He grabbed Jennifer by the left forearm and drug her off the bed. He locked his jaw and shook his head. Jack did everything to get Hal off of Jennifer. He was successful despite getting bit himself and 911 was called to rush her to the hospital.

(Hal is deceased)

I was called by one of their neighbors after Jack collapsed in front of her in a heap of emotions (which is out of character) . I headed out to meet them at the hospital. When the neighbors wife and Jack got there, they had a hard time locating Jennifer as she had been given a trauma alias name & DOB. I met up with the neighbor and Jack and we were taken back to see Jennifer.

I was there when they did the bandage change. Oh lordy I didn't expect what I saw.

It was a 10cm x 5cm x 4cm gash across her left forearm, two gashes and a puncture from the bottom teeth on the the bottom of the same forearm. Then 3 puncture wounds on her right forearm.

She was taken into surgery at 835am on Wednesday, Sept 10th (this morning). They sewed up what they could and covered the rest of the gash with a wound vac. I have photos of the wound before surgery but am not allowed to share on here from what I have read. Per the trauma team, Hal got most of the muscle on the top of her arm. Her artery was thankfully intact. They said it's going to be a LONG recovery and she may never fully regain the strength in her left arm.

She will not be able to work for a while and he will have to stay home to help her. They also were trying to move to their new house which is ready and waiting on them. That will now be delayed and they will be extending their rental on the house they are in now (unplanned expense).
