Help Jennifer Espinosa Through Emergency Surgery & Recovery

Our dear friend, Jennifer Espinosa, is facing an unexpected medical emergency that has turned her life upside down.

On Friday, Jennifer was hospitalized after being diagnosed with a diaphragmatic hernia, a serious condition where her stomach and other abdominal organs have moved into her chest cavity. Because of the severity of her condition, doctors had to perform an emergency procedure to temporarily pull her stomach back down. While the procedure helped stabilize her, her surgeon explained that it is only a temporary solution—a "bandage fix" until a much more extensive surgery can be performed.

On Monday, Jennifer is scheduled for a major surgery expected to last 3 to 4 hours. During the operation, the surgical team will attempt to permanently repair the hernia. If they are unable to safely complete the repair, Jennifer will need to be transferred to another hospital where surgeons may have to remove her stomach and intestines from her chest cavity and reconstruct her diaphragm using either surgical mesh or stitches.

This has all happened so suddenly, and Jennifer is now facing not only a long recovery but also mounting medical expenses and time away from work. We are asking for your help to ease some of the financial burden so she can focus on healing instead of worrying about bills. She has 3 children, a husband who is about to start a new job and animals. With her husband having to had a surgery the prior month, they are through what savings they had and absolutely did not expect this to happen with nothing in their bank account. Chris is at home with kids unless it's visiting hours then they are at the hospital with Jennifer.

07/11 - Update

I am now at home recovering. I'm under strick restrictions on what I'm allowed to do and lift. I'm supposed to be out of work for the next weeks. with no income currently coming in anything at this point would be a huge relief and blessing. on top of regular bills adding up, needing household and hygiene items, our oldest turns 14 in a few weeks and it's almost back to school time (school supplies, clothes, ect) any help will go directly towards bills and these items. will also post proof of payments made as well. we also have fee free methods of donating which I'll post a picture of. if you're local I can give our address if you prefer to drop stuff off as well. also if you know of any organizations or places that help feel free to reach out. we appreciate everything everyone has done ❤️

This week has been HARD. I got a letter from my insurance company saying they are denying my hospital stay and surgeries. due to a filing error. I plan to appeal it but just thinking about that alone is scary. our porch caught on fire and while no one was hurt and the amazing LEOs and Firemen where here within minutes, it was very scary. I had my two week follow up with the surgeon today. while I didn't get the news I was hoping for, he said that my prolonged pain is actually normal for the type of surgery they did. I have stitches in my muscles in my abdomen and diaphragm. he said another week or so and they should be dissolved. in 4 weeks I go in for a X-ray and CT scan to verify everything is healed up and no further surgery is needed. he told me he doesn't think it's a good idea to go back to work so soon but understands bills are due. he has me on strict lifting and bending restrictions. he was very stern in the fact if they have to repeat the surgery the success rate goes down because the tissue doesn't heal up the same. it's a difficult spot to be in, needing to work to pay bills but also not wanting to cause more damage that may result in me being back in the hospital.

at this time we are mainly focused on paying the rest of the bills that are behind and most of the bills due at the beginning of August . my husband should have full paychecks by then and if I'm careful enough I can work and contribute these next four weeks. anything really is a blessing to our family and helps keep stability in this uncertain time. even shares help spread the word to people who may not know.

to every person who has donated, done a sinner for the meal train, brought supplies over, prayed we seriously cannot thank you enough. we haven't felt support and love like this in a long time and we are just in awe. when I'm fully released from restrictions, we plan to find some places to volunteer at to just help out the community and try and pay it forward . y'all seriously are amazing . thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
