My name is Gwen Hitt, and I am organizing this fundraiser for my friend, Jennifer Johnson.

Jennifer is one of the strongest, most selfless people you could ever meet. She is a devoted teacher, a loving mother and grandmother, and a constant caregiver to those who depend on her most. For years, she has poured her heart into caring for her family, always putting others before herself with quiet strength and unwavering love.

Recently, Jennifer underwent a hysterectomy, and in the midst of recovery, she received devastating news—she has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of ovarian cancer. As she begins this unexpected and difficult journey, she is facing not only the emotional and physical toll of treatment, but also the financial strain that comes with it.

Jennifer is the primary source of financial support for her household. She lovingly provides for multiple generations under her roof, including a daughter who is unable to contribute due to ongoing health challenges, her 83-year-old mother who requires significant care, a 13 year old, and a 3 year old. With no remaining sick leave—after time spent caring for her family and recovering from surgery—she is now faced with significantly reduced income at a time when her family depends on her the most.

Those who know Jennifer know that she would never ask for help herself—but now is the time for us to surround her with the same love and support she has so freely given to others.
