I’m Jennifer, the founder of Carland Cartography LLC, and I’m currently participating in an accelerator program to help grow my business in a sustainable way. This opportunity has challenged me to clearly name what support would make the biggest difference right now: hiring a Studio Business Development Manager. My work is rooted in creating impactful public art and building meaningful commercial art licensing partnerships, and I know there is real potential to expand that work. But reaching those opportunities takes far more than creativity alone. Every public art commission, grant, RFQ, licensing application, and partnership requires hours of research, paperwork, proposal coordination, tracking, and follow-through.
As an artist, my greatest strengths are creativity, vision, and storytelling. Those are the gifts I bring to projects that create beauty, connection, and meaning in public spaces. At the same time, the administrative side of growing a creative practice often pulls me away from the work that only I can do. Living with ADHD adds another layer of difficulty when it comes to sustained concentration, repetitive tasks, deadlines, and managing large amounts of documentation. Support for this fundraiser will help provide a salary for a remote Studio Business Development Manager who can help identify aligned opportunities, build relationships, coordinate proposals, and keep important opportunities moving forward. With dedicated business development support, I can spend more time doing what I do best: creating impactful artwork, building relationships with communities, and bringing visionary projects to life. The coordinator can focus on the systems, processes, and opportunity management that transform creative potential into successful projects. If you believe in my work and want to help me focus more fully on creating art that serves communities, I would be deeply grateful for your support and for sharing this fundraiser with others.
