Help Jennifer Go Back To Uni!!

Donation protected

Hi Everyone,

I've known Jen for over 15 years now, and if you know her as well you already know she is the mom of a wonderful and talented teenage daughter. Jen is finally trying to go back to school and follow her passion while showing her daughter that you can create dreams at any age, and no matter what you can achieve those dreams as well.

After squeaking through High School, graduating 24 years ago (what!!) Jen was diagnosed as dyslexic. This gave clarity to her struggles with learning - and it made sense why she only barely graduated.

This year Jean realized she really wants to help other students like her: students who have learning challenges and need the assistance that she so desperately needed but never received. She wants to go back to school to become an Education Assistant. She started this journey by upgrading her English 12 to improve the grade on her transcript; through the help of family and friends she was able to pass the course with 94% (Way To Go Jen!!!). This really solidified her decision to help students -- look what she was able to achieve with the proper supports! With this grade she was accepted into the college program that will allow her to become an Education Assistant.

Then life decided to throw a wrench in her plans; because she is still paying off previous student loans, she is ineligible to receive funding to attend this program (cost is $4258 tuition plus $150 books) despite the fact that she always made her payments on time - it's just their rules. She can pay the tuition in 2 installments of $2100 each OR as one lump sum. Beyond that, she has the books for the program as well as other related costs such as a computer & other tech to help with her dyslexia (tools that will aid her in her learning but also in future jobs).

While attending this course she will be continuing to work during the day to cover the daily bills and any extracurriculars for her daughter but will not have any extra money in the budget. Jen is always the first one to help out her family and friends (even people she doesn't know) in any way she can, and has been integral in many fundraising events. However, like most of us, she is loathe to ask for help for herself. She is at a complete roadblock right now and has nowhere else to turn so I decided to create this Gofundme on her behalf so we can all do our part to help her out.

Any amount you can donate, even if it's just $2, would be greatly appreciated!!
