My name is Kaylee, and I’m starting this fundraiser for my mom, Jennifer. She is one of the strongest people I know. After surviving an abusive relationship for 20 years, she worked so hard to get herself, her children, and our pets to safety. Leaving that situation came with a heavy cost, and she has been trying to carry debt, depression, and the daily pressure of keeping food on the table and a roof over our heads ever since. Through everything, my mom has kept going for our family. She protected me from so much and fought behind the scenes for years to get us out. To me, she truly is superwoman, and she deserves some peace and stability.

Right now, our biggest struggle is her car. She still owes money on her 2018 Ford Fusion EcoBoost, but it is running into the ground. It has serious problems, including coolant intrusion in the engine, repeated water pump failures, control valve sensor issues, tire pressure sensors that do not work, and a check engine light that has been on for over a year. It is unreliable, unsafe, and our only transportation for my mom, my brother, and me. We also have three dogs, including two black labs, so the car is too small for our family’s needs. If this vehicle completely gives out, we could lose our only way to get to work and handle everyday life, and that puts our housing at risk too.

We’re asking for help because this is about so much more than getting a newer vehicle. A safe, dependable car would give my mom the ability to get to work, take care of our family, transport our dogs, and live without the constant fear of being stranded. It would bring stability to a family that has already been through so much. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to us.
