Hi, my name is Jennifer. I am reaching out to share a battle that has become too large for me to face on my own. I have been living on a fixed disability income (SSDI) for some time due to a traumatic brain injury and dominant arm/hand injury, but my life changed forever with a recent diagnosis of invasive p16-negative squamous cell carcinoma.
This is an aggressive form of cancer that requires immediate and intensive treatment. It has spread into my neck lymph nodes on both sides. Right now, I am struggling with severe, constant back and hip painthat hasn't responded to medication, as well as new numbness in my left arm. These symptoms make it impossible for me to handle daily tasks.
The Financial Need and Regulation Transparency:
While Medicare covers some of my medical bills, it does not cover our basic survival. My partner just started a brand-new job yesterday. Because she is a new hire, she has no vacation time, no sick leave, and no FMLA protection. To be my caregiver—to getu me to my critical PET scan on February 25th and my upcoming surgery—she must take unpaid leave, which puts our entire household income at risk.
We are raising $10,000, which will be managed as follows:
* Housing & Utilities ($6,000): To cover 3–4 months of rent and basic utilities while my wife takes unpaid time off to care for me.
* Medical Transportation ($2,000): For gas, parking, and travel costs to specialist appointments in Seattle/Tacoma.
* Essential Home Care ($2,000): To pay for assistance with daily living needs (meals, hygiene, mobility) that my arm weakness prevents me from doing myself.
Withdrawal Plan:
In compliance with GoFundMe safety guidelines, I, Jennifer, am the sole beneficiary of this fundraiser. All funds will be withdrawn directly into my verified personal bank account to be used exclusively for the expenses listed above.
The Ask:I
I have a critical PET scan on the 25th and surgery immediately following. My goal is to focus on surviving this cancer without the constant, crushing fear of being evicted or losing our electricity. Any donation, no matter how small, is a literal lifeline for my family. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing our story.
Thank you for your kindness and for standing with me.
