Help Jennifer and Sol with Medical Bills

Hi, I'm Carla, and I'm setting this up for my sister, Jennifer, and my nephew, Sol. His name means "sun," and he is a light to everyone who knows him. He is witty and sweet and loving. He's involved in drama and choir. And he is Jennifer's whole world.

As of last week, Thursday, February 3, 2022, he has been in the throes of a health crisis. The hospital in Lubbock, Texas worked on him until Sunday night then flew them to Children's Hospital of Dallas. His entire body is shutting down. He needs a liver transplant, for starters. But it's hard to say whether or not he will also need a kidney transplant or other major surgery. He's been on pretty constant dialysis since Saturday, and he remains in critical condition.

Jennifer hasn't left his side, and she's not going to be able to for possibly weeks. That means she has no income and an exorbitant amount of medical bills piling up. Anything you can do to help would be appreciated, whether financially or through prayer. Thank you for reading this far. Be blessed.

Since yesterday, Sol has been off of dialysis, and his numbers continue to slowly improve. This is great news because it indicates his liver and kidneys are starting to work on their own. He finally opened his eyes on Friday and has been awake the past couple of days, which is good and bad. It’s good because we can see he’s able to interact and show cognitive function. It’s bad because he’s in a lot of pain and doctors are limited in what pain relief they can give without adding more risk. Day by day we’re able to see improvements, and we are so thankful.
