Help Jennie on Her Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Jennie — our beloved friend, sister, and fellow Registered Nurse on 4 Surgical — has recently been diagnosed with a serious brain injury that is impairing her ability to manage even the most basic bodily functions. What once came naturally — walking, speaking, swallowing — now requires immense effort and strength.
Jennie has lost her ability to talk, walk, and perform everyday tasks that many of us take for granted. Her body trembles when she tries to move, and her balance and coordination are severely affected. Even swallowing food has become difficult, and she may soon require a feeding tube.
She was diagnosed at Stanford and has been accepted into one of California’s top inpatient rehabilitation programs for brain injury. There, she is working intensively with a dedicated team of speech therapists, occupational and physical therapists, recreational therapists, and psychotherapists. Every day, she is fighting to rebuild the connection between her brain and her body — to eat, speak, move, and regain independence.
Jennie is not only a skilled and compassionate nurse, but also a devoted mother, loving wife, cherished daughter, and treasured friend. She has spent her life caring for others. Now, it’s our turn to care for her.
Jennie’s recovery journey will be long and challenging. Unfortunately, her insurance does not cover many of the essential tools she needs — including a wheelchair and adaptive equipment to help her safely navigate her home. These costs must be paid out of pocket.
We are raising funds to ease the financial burden on Jennie and her family so they can focus entirely on her healing. Your donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward her recovery needs and daily living expenses during this difficult time.
Let’s come together as a community and lift up Jennie and her family. Your kindness and generosity will mean the world to them.
Thank you for your support.
