Help Jenni Rebuild Her Home and Life

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-hearted Supporters,

Today, I reach out to you with a heavy heart but an unwavering sense of hope. My sister, Jenni, is a true warrior, facing challenges that many of us can only imagine. After enduring serious health issues, she now navigates life largely in a wheelchair, with only fleeting moments of independence. Yet, through it all, Jenni remains resilient, determined to reclaim her home and rebuild her life.

What was once a cherished home has become a shell of its former self, devastated by a catastrophic pipe burst that turned Jenni's life upside down. Since May of this year, she and her children have been displaced, living in a nearby extended stay while the repairs—initially promised to be swift—have dragged on for seven long months due to contractor delays, insurance negotiations, and lender approvals.

After countless meetings with contractors and a painstaking search for a reliable company, Jenni finally secured a quote that would allow her to start rebuilding her home within the timeframe dictated by her housing allowance. Hope flickered in her heart when she hired a local contractor based on a trusted referral, believing she was on the path to reclaiming her space.

However, that hope quickly turned to despair. The contractor mismanaged $25,000 of her insurance payout, completing only five days of work in nearly three months. Despite promises to have her home ready by October 15th, only minimal progress has been made—some painting and subflooring in one room—while essential areas like the kitchen, bathroom, and living spaces remain untouched. To make matters worse, this contractor has begun pressuring Jenni for more money, claiming he needs funds for items he has already stated were paid for. He has even admitted to using her insurance payout for personal expenses, leaving Jenni and her children stranded in limbo.

This situation transcends mere structural repairs; it is about Jenni’s sense of security and the future she envisioned for her family. She hoped to finish the repairs to secure a tenant and regain some much-needed rental income. Instead, she finds herself losing precious time with her children and facing the stress of her ongoing health battles while having to bounce back and forth from my home, an hour and a half away, and our parent’s home.

Today, we are turning to our community for support. We aim to raise the funds necessary to complete the rebuilding process ourselves, bypassing the challenges created by the contractor. Your generosity can transform Jenni's life. Every dollar donated will go directly toward restoring her home and her sense of stability.

Imagine the impact your kindness can have. With your help, we can empower Jenni to reclaim her space and find comfort in her own home once again.

If you are unable to contribute financially, we completely understand. Please consider sharing this campaign within your network; spreading the word is just as valuable and could lead to the support we need.

Thank you for taking the time to read Jenni's story. Your kindness, compassion, and support mean the world to us as we work tirelessly to help her rebuild not just her home, but her life.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Cyndi
