Help Jenni & Jake with Vet Bills

Donation protected
UPDATE: Thank you all SO MUCH for your generous donations to help Jenni & Jake pay some of their vet expenses. We have a little ways to go, if you can help!

Buddy is healed from his months-long ordeal, but has an impressive scar from just behind the top of his shoulder blade to his belly. (Chicks dig scars!) He’s back to his sassy self, demanding treats and walks, and claiming the coveted dog bed in the morning sun.! (See new pic added!)

Marcella is stable currently, though following up with an internal medicine specialist for liver and possible kidney issues, but nothing super urgent. Just the regular issues with a senior dog.

Gus, sadly, has transitioned to palliative care - he’s on 3 meds that are keeping him comfortable for now. When his condition deteriorates, they’ll make the difficult choice for home euthanasia. He doesn’t need to go back to the vet any more (his anxiety is terrible during vet visits!), he is eating whatever he wants (big fan of freeze dried minnows) and is generally being spoiled.

It's been a rough few months for my cousins, Jenni & Jake. They have three beautiful rescue pets who ALL have had catastrophic health events in the last 4 months.
It started in January with Marcella’s (10 year old Boxer rescue) sudden collapse, ER visit and hospitalization. She was diagnosed with Boxer cardiomyopathy (arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy) and will need medications for the rest of her life to mitigate the heart issues. The heart testing and hospitalization was thousands of dollars. Additionally, Marcella has to have an expensive test in the coming weeks to check to see if part of her issues are from Cushings Disease. Adding to her expensive care.
Sadly, just when Marcella's heart issues were getting under control, poor Buddy (9 year old Boxer mix rescue) needed urgent dental care, and swiftly he followed with a mysterious skin wound on his side that rapidly got infected, and swelled. It required 2 months of care under a surgeon, 1-3 sedations/procedures for dressing changes a week and 3 surgeries to slowly debride and close the open wound, and countless pain medications and antibiotics. Then another ER visit for Buddy in April for pain and additional abdominal imaging for lower intestine inflammation (likely caused by the months of antibiotics). He's finally on the mend...and then...
Gus (11 year old kitty) was losing weight and Jenni & Jake were concerned and led them to his regular vet. Their vet referred him to the same cardiologist Marcella had because of a concerning EKG showing his heart rate was over 300 and a respiratory rate that was too high. Now he’s got cardiologist bills, hospitalization, and congestive heart failure, a-fib & hypertrophic cardiomyopathy diagnoses which will require several medications daily for the rest of his life. His cardiology visit was over $3500. He is home again and resting comfortably, but it will be a long road to adjust medications for his comfort.

Jenni & Jake are the loveliest humans you could meet, and they have sought the very best care for their pets, quietly, taking on more than $25,000 in debt in the last 4 months to care for their babies. Let's help them make a dent in these astronomical vet bills. THANK YOU!
