Help Jenni get to Shiloh!

Donation protected
My name is Jenni Bartlett, and I'm a student at The Bible Seminary, pursuing a Master of Arts in Biblical Languages and Culture. I'm trying to raise funds so I can participate in the excavation of biblical Shiloh. This is where the tabernacle of Moses and Joshua stood for over 300 years before King Solomon built the first temple in Jerusalem!

In previous seasons, the excavation team of the Associates for Biblical Research (ABR), under the leadership of Dr. Scott Stripling (who is also the provost of The Bible Seminary), has discovered many artifacts that align with the biblical account. These include a ceramic pomegranate associated with the priesthood, uncut stones that would have been used as the "horns" of the stone altar, a platform that matches the dimensions of the tabernacle, Egyptian scarabs that date to the time of the exodus, and hundreds of animal bones and pottery fragments that support the identification of this site as the place where Israelites worshiped YHWH from the 13th to the 10th century BC.

I have wanted to participate in this project for years, but for various reasons (physical injuries, illness, etc.), I have been unable to join the team. At this time, I am physically fit enough to participate, but I lack the funds. We are a one-income family since I homeschool our children and I'm a student myself. My husband works very hard, but he makes just enough to make ends meet. Your donation will help to pay for my airfare (~$1000) and two weeks on site in Shiloh ($1850) - one week for excavation and wet-sifting (washing the dirt off, so smaller items can be identified), and one week for preserving the site with my colleagues. In other words, this trip is not for leisure; it's for learning. I will not be taking the tour of Israel that is being offered the second week I plan to be there, although there may be a weekend jaunt into Jerusalem (additional but minimal expense), and I will certainly enjoy being with my colleagues since I usually only interact with them online.

By the way, I'm about 6 classes away from completing my dual degree program (Bachelor's and Master's). Any money I raise above what I need to spend for my trip will go toward my degree - about $1300 per class. After I graduate, I plan to write extensively about biblical history and archaeology and why these things matter to us today: The Bible is true! It is the reliable, enduring Word of God, and it points us to "the Way, the Truth, and the Life," Jesus Christ (John 14:6)!

Thank you so much for any donation, and may God richly bless you for investing in His kingdom!

Soli Deo Gloria!
