Hi, my name is Jenni and I’m fundraising for Laika, Archie and Stanley while I start building a creative retreat space in Galicia. (¡Castellano abajo!) After some incredibly difficult years in Catalonia including health problems, brutal workplaces, and cult-like training environments, I decided to walk away from it all.

I packed everything that would fit into a Nissan Micra, along with my dog Archie and my cats Betty and Monty, and drove to Galicia to start again. It was a huge, probably reckless decision, but one of the best I’ve ever made. I bought a small house in the countryside with the dream of turning it into a creative and restorative space, somewhere people can come to paint, walk, soak in the hot springs, drink good wine and escape the dogma and nonsense that dominate the wellness world. No gurus, no slogans. Just art, nature, and peace.

 Then Laika appeared. A beautiful, gentle dog who’d been left behind after her owner suffered a stroke. She’d been surviving on scraps, roaming near busy roads and in heat, surrounded by male dogs. I couldn’t leave her like that, so I took her in. She quickly bonded with Archie, and, well, let’s just say he certainly seems to have fathered at least two of the eight puppies, including Stanley, who’s now staying with us. Laika gave birth to eight puppies.

I cared for all of them until they found loving homes, and Bertie, the last to leave, was recently adopted. Now Laika, Archie, and Stanley are settled here with me. Watching Laika carry the tiniest pups, including Stanley, into another room each morning to give them extra feeding was one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen. Caring for everyone has been a joy, but it’s also drained my energy and savings. Between vet visits, food, vaccinations, sterilisation and long nights, the costs have been far higher than I ever expected. Also, health setbacks keep delaying the relaunch of my new projects. Because of this, I’ve had to pause the renovation of the retreat project and new Provokarte cult busting project, and that’s why I’m asking for help.

 Your support will help cover:

• Food for the dogs and cats
• Vaccinations, spaying and vet treatments
• Ongoing care for Stanley and Laika
• Recovery costs for my cat Monty, who also needed emergency treatment
• A little extra support while I get my projects going again

CASTELLANO  Hola, me llamo Jenni y estoy recaudando fondos para Laika, Archie y Stanley mientras construyo un retiro creativo en el campo de Galicia. (English above) Después de unos años increíblemente difíciles en Catalunya - con problemas de salud, entornos laborales brutales y formaciones con dinámicas casi sectarias - decidí dejarlo todo atrás.

Metí en mi Nissan Micra todo lo que cabía, junto con mi perro Archie y mis gatos Betty y Monty, y conduje hasta Galicia para empezar de nuevo. Fue una decisión enorme, quizá algo imprudente, pero una de las mejores que he tomado en mi vida.

Compré una pequeña casa en el campo con el sueño de convertirla en un espacio creativo y reparador: un lugar donde la gente pueda venir a pintar, caminar, disfrutar de las termas, tomar buen vino y desconectar del dogma y las tonterías que dominan el mundo del bienestar. Sin gurús ni frases vacías. Solo arte, naturaleza y calma. Entonces apareció Laika. Una perra preciosa y tranquila que se había quedado atrás después de que su dueño sufriera un ictus. Sobrevivía con las sobras, vagando cerca de carreteras transitadas y rodeada de perros machos en celo. No pude dejarla así, así que la acogí. Se encariñó enseguida con Archie y, bueno, digamos que él parece haber sido padre de al menos dos de los ocho cachorros, entre ellos Stanley, que se ha quedado conmigo. Laika dio a luz a ocho cachorros.

Cuidé de todos hasta que encontraron buenos hogares, y Bertie, el último en irse, fue adoptado hace poco. Ahora Laika, Archie y Stanley viven conmigo. Ver a Laika llevar cada mañana a los más pequeños, incluido Stanley, a otra habitación para darles tomas extra fue una de las escenas más tiernas que he presenciado. Cuidar de todos ha sido una alegría, pero también ha agotado mi energía y mis ahorros. Entre las visitas al veterinario, la comida, las vacunas, la esterilización y las noches sin dormir, los gastos han sido mucho mayores de lo que imaginaba.

Además, algunos problemas de salud han seguido retrasando el relanzamiento de mis nuevos proyectos. Por eso he tenido que pausar la renovación del proyecto del retiro artístico y también el nuevo proyecto de Provokarte, dedicado a desenmascarar dinámicas coercitivas y cultistas. Y por eso pido ayuda.

Tu apoyo servirá para cubrir:

• Comida para los perros y los gatos
• Vacunas, esterilización y tratamientos veterinarios
• Cuidados continuos para Stanley y Laika
• Gastos de recuperación de mi gato Monty, que también necesitó atención de urgencia
• Un pequeño apoyo extra mientras relanzo mis proyectos

Cada aportación, grande o pequeña, me ayuda a estabilizar la situación y a seguir construyendo el retiro creativo, un lugar donde las personas puedan recuperarse del agotamiento, del abuso narcisista y de la manipulación sectaria, y volver a conectar con lo que realmente importa.
