Help Jennell Fight for Her Life — A Kidney Transplant Journey
Hi, my name is Nikki, and I’m incredibly grateful you’re here. I want to share the story of someone who means the world to me — my dearest friend, Jennell Ramirez.
Jennell is a true warrior. She beat cancer. She survived a kidney transplant. And for many years, she lived a full and beautiful life. But now, she’s facing a heartbreaking reality: her transplanted kidney is failing. Despite every effort — endless medications, strict routines, and unwavering strength — her kidney function has declined to just 7%. Her doctors have told her she will need another transplant to survive.
This news has turned her world upside down.
Jennell’s health is rapidly declining. Her hemoglobin has dropped dangerously low, leaving her constantly fatigued, winded, and severely anemic. She needs weekly injections just to help her body produce enough red blood cells. Her carbon dioxide levels are elevated, putting her at risk of losing consciousness. Her lungs are struggling. Her body is overwhelmed. And yet, she shows up each day with courage and grace.
Because of her health, Jennell has had to leave her job and begin dialysis — a grueling process to help sustain her remaining kidney function. She is a single mom, a dedicated professional, and one of the most compassionate, generous, and selfless people I’ve ever known.
And now — she needs help.
She’s officially on the transplant list at the Mayo Clinic, but the wait time can be as long as five years. That’s time she may not have.
We are asking for two things:
1. Financial support. The cost of treatment, transportation, living expenses, and lost income is overwhelming. Your donation, no matter how small, can help lighten this heavy burden.
2. A living kidney donor. If you or someone you know is healthy, willing, and open to learning more, please consider becoming a donor. I’ve included a QR code on this page with more information.
Jennell has spent her life giving to others. It’s our turn to give back to her.
Please help by sharing this page, donating what you can, and spreading the word. Every share brings us closer to saving her life.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you.
— Nikki
