Jenna's Journey for Health and Joy.

Donation protected
For those of you who know Jenna Lee Cooper, you have certainly witnessed her compassion, caring heart, and desire to help others. Jenna is the type of person who has always put the needs of family and friends before her own and these acts of selflessness are what make her such an incredible and inspiring person.

Unfortunately, Jenna has had to battle a plethora of health problems and accidents over the last 15 months that have left us in a position of financial crisis and we are desperately reaching out to you (our family and friends) for help. Please join me in supporting Jenna’s recovery and together we can demonstrate to her the same love and support that she has always shown us.

                                  Timeline of Events.

Jenna’s ability to work was abruptly halted on New Years Eve 2016 when she broke her kneecap. The injury left her in a situation where she was unable to work for three months. During that time, we relied on what little amount of money we had set aside in a savings account to offset the major loss of wages and keep a roof over our heads. Once her knee was healed enough to slowly begin a return to work, she was hit with another unfortunate event that included a 2-week admission in the hospital. She was diagnosed with a serious case of pneumonia, chronic bronchitis, costochondritis, pleurisy of the lungs, severe asthma, and nodules on her lungs. Since the initial hospital visit, she has had to return to the hospital two more times, and has since spent a total of 30 days or more admitted to the hospital. No matter how much we battle the respiratory problems, they never seem to completely go away and the constant struggle for oxygen has left her physically exhausted.

For a very short period of time, the doctors felt that as long as she continued to take her medicine and breathing treatments, she would be able to return to work. She was able to do so for two weeks until her most recent unfortunate event. Jenna was driving to work when she stopped to yield for a fire truck and was rear-ended by two vehicles. Although she was wearing her seatbelt, the airbags failed to deploy and the force of the impact caused her head to slam the steering wheel. Back in her high school days, Jenna had a very serious traumatic brain injury that took a long time to recover from, so any trauma to the head must be handled carefully. The preliminary diagnosis is a concussion, but doctors are still in the process of evaluating her with brain scans and other tests. Until further notice, she has been instructed to rest, and it is unknown how long it will be until she is well enough to return to work.

Jenna has always been a tremendously happy, outgoing, and energetic person. One of her favorite quotes has always been “Live like there is no tomorrow, laugh until you cry, love like you’ve never been hurt, and no matter what, never let anything take your sparkle away.” Until recently, these are words that Jenna has always lived by. Unfortunately, her sudden decline in health has left her in a position where she is not able to live her life to the fullest, she physically cannot laugh because of the immense and debilitating pain in her chest, she is finding it difficult to love herself because she is constantly feeling like she is a disappointment and a burden (I remind her every day that she is not), and her sparkle is being consumed by an overwhelming feeling of helplessness and fear for loosing everything she has worked so hard for her whole life.

To our family and friends, I ask that you please keep Jenna in your prayers. And I want you to know how grateful and thankful we are for anyone who is able to donate for Jenna’s recovery. If you are unable to make a donation, I ask that you please share this go fund me on social media so that we can reach out to as many helping hands as possible. With as much as she is going through already, it breaks my heart that she worries about how we are going to keep the lights on, the water running, food in the refrigerator, and a roof over our heads. Please help me lift this burden from her shoulders, and show her just how much she means to all of us! Thank you.
