On Sunday, December 15th, we received a phone call that has changed how we look at life.

That night was like any other. Travis had left for work, and I was getting to bed myself after telling him goodbye. As I laid down, I heard my phone going off. I looked, and it’s Travis. To myself, I thought, what could he want? He’s been gone an hour at this point, and I’m thinking he just wants me to put his hunting clothes in the dryer. I answer, and the fear in his voice sent chills down my spine. He told me to get up, get Brody in the car, and go get the kids from Jenna’s house; the ambulance is there. Not knowing any more details, I jumped up, threw some clothes on, grabbed my boy, put his coat on, and out the door I went. I got to Jenna’s house in 6 minutes after stopping for the ambulance she was in to pass me. Still not knowing what is going on, I get to Jenna’s house, run inside, tell the kids to get in the car, and pick up the littlest one and carry him out. At this point, all I know is Jenna was vomiting blood and passed out.

My instant thought was internal bleeding, but from where and why???

Jenna ended up having an ectopic pregnancy that ruptured and was bleeding internally from the rupture.

Jenna's life since then has changed. She was put on the ventilator for 6 days, airlifted to Fort Wayne, and needed a full blood transfusion when she lost nearly all her blood from this misdiagnosed pregnancy.

We all are so very thankful for her being here today. She did make it home on Christmas Eve to spend with the children, but unfortunately ended up back at Franciscan the day after Christmas.

We aren’t asking for handouts but asking for help with her medical bills and help cover her major finances while she’s recovering.
